“Cling! Cling!” I heard my phone ring over the bedroom, “These people who call you when you are having a meal, somewhat have the minds of cockroaches”. I called it a missed call, they literally say a missed call is not a rejected call, neither is it an ignored one. I remember once confronting my mother when she failed to pick my call, she rebuked me with the phrase, “Mtu akikosa kuchukua simu, si eti amekataa kuchukua simu”. The phone rung up again, I walked slowly and picked it up, she was my friend, at least for the time I knew her. “Hello”, I started what could be a short but nosy conversation. “Victor, I’m done”, in a low tone she startled, “Done with what”, I inquired. “That shit of a job. Si tupatane nikupe udaku”, she chuckled.

It’s around 10pm and am walking home, alone, taking the only route that leads to my parents’ domicile. This one, a rather spooky shrubby scrub, with unimaginable tales, am scared. The day was so hectic and sinful, my heart can’t let go. My mind is preoccupied with thoughts and regrets, I don’t deserve redemption… naah, am not one of the good guys out there. Over the course of my short life, I have made many mistakes but the one I made today will haunt me forever. “How could you Victor? How could you?” Am drowning in my thoughts, the guilt is consuming me. No matter how much I try to deflect my mind, it can’t, it clings to that tragedy. The trajectory of my life is now utterly out of control, am going to crash. “Be strong Victor, at least fo...

Compulsive deceitful habits destroy families and friendships. Even supposing compulsive or pathological liars tell lies perpetually, it’s striking to notice that compulsive lying isn't austerely a diagnosed condition. Different theories on the phenomenon of lying, state that it happens due to emotional problems, neglect, or one thing that is going on to them within the past. However, these aren't the sole reasons folks lie. Jerald Jellis...
